DFC Sponsors Aleethia Foundation Dinner
On January 4, 2013, Duty First Consulting (DFC) joined the Aleethia Foundation at its Friday night dinner for injured service members, and is proud to have been the sponsor for this event. The Aleethia Foundation is a small nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting recently injured troops as they return home. It is made up of volunteers trying to aid our wounded warriors in the initial phase of recovery and throughout their rehabilitation. They do this by providing dinners, short term recreation outings, and small grants. They have been hosting dinners every Friday night since October of 2003, and this has been a very successful program. The dinner on January 4th was held at Tesoro, a popular Italian restaurant in Washington, D.C.
In addition to the wounded U. S. troops from Walter Reed National Military Medical Center – Bethesda that have regularly attended the Aleethia dinners, guests at the January 4th dinner also included seriously injured service members from the Democratic Republic of Georgia Armed Forces. Since 2009, the Georgian military has trained with U.S. forces to support the international Security Assistance Force (ISAF) and serve alongside U.S. forces and other partner nations in Afghanistan. Some of the most seriously injured of these Georgian troops have received advanced care at Walter Reed alongside the injured U. S. troops with whom they have served.
DFC is privileged to have been able to sponsor and join these brave young men, women, and their loved ones at the Aleethia Foundation’s Friday night dinner.
