DFC Participates in National Wreaths Across America Day
This Saturday DFC joined Wreaths Across America and thousands of volunteers to lay remembrance wreaths on the headstones at Arlington National Cemetery. DFC is honored to help carry out Wreaths Across America’s mission which is to “Remember our fallen heroes, honor those who serve, and teach our children about the sacrifices made by Veterans and their families to preserve our freedoms.”
National Wreaths Across America Day began in 1992 with 5,000 wreaths being placed at Arlington National Cemetery. This year, volunteers helped to place more than 240,000 wreaths. The wreaths placed at Arlington National Cemetery were among more than 900,000 wreaths placed at more than 1,000 locations nationwide. According to Wreaths Across America, the wreaths are a symbol of honor, respect, and victory. “When you place a wreath on a Veteran’s grave, you will know it is not just a wreath; it’s your personal gift to an American hero.”
Through the DFC GIVE (Get Involved for Veterans) Program, our professionals participate in quarterly team volunteer events in order to support the Veteran community and to make a difference in the lives of those who have served our country.
