DFC Awarded Contract to Support VA’s National Center for PTSD
DFC was recently awarded a multi-year contract with the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), National Center for PTSD Consultation Program, which provides education, training, information, resources, and consultation to health professionals who are treating Veterans with Posttraumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD).
DFC’s Strategic Communications and Research practice will lead the effort with support from teaming partner Spurrier Media Group. Together, our team will apply its deep understanding of both Veterans and health communications to promote the National Center for PTSD Consultation Program. In support of the award, the DFC Team will implement a comprehensive integrated marketing campaign targeting stakeholders nationwide.
In 2010, the National Center for PTSD developed the PTSD Consultation Program for providers who treat Veterans. Originally developed for VA clinicians only, now providers and other individuals engaging with Veterans throughout the nation can take advantage of this consultation program to get information on evidence-based treatments to help provide better care for Veterans. The program is an important step in helping health care providers and other stakeholders increase their understanding of PTSD and successfully treat the Veterans they see—all of whom, whether they are cared for by VA or not, have earned the right to receive the best evidence-based treatments available.
