DFC Participates in Honor Flights Greeting
“Alone we can do so little; Together we can do so much.” – Hellen Keller
In celebration of National Volunteer week and in support of the Honor Flight Network, DFC greeted dozens of World War II, Korean War, and Vietnam War Veterans from Knoxville, TN at Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport on Wednesday, April 13, 2016.
The Honor Flight Network flies Veterans from 127 cities, free of charge, to visit their memorials in Washington, DC. As greeters, we enthusiastically welcomed and thanked the arriving Veterans for their service. It was an exciting opportunity to become better acquainted with our past generations and to learn more about what they have done to serve our country. One Veteran on the flight had just turned 100!
National Volunteer Week is an annual celebration observed to inspire, recognize, and encourage people to seek out imaginative ways to engage in their communities. DFC is committed to making a difference in the lives of those who have served our country. Through our GIVE (Get Involved for Veterans) Program our professionals participate in quarterly team volunteer events in support of the Veteran and military communities.
