At Duty First Consulting, we are proud to support the Veteran community through corporate philanthropy and community service initiatives. The DFC GIVE Program, which stands for Get Involved for Veterans, was created in November 2011 in an effort to give back to Veterans and make a difference in the lives of those who have defended our country. The GIVE Program also supports initiatives that support active Servicemembers and military personnel. Moreover, the program is a great way to build camaraderie and promote team building in the workplace. It also offers employees the opportunity to connect with individuals who are greatly impacted by the work we do on a daily basis.

DFC participates in quarterly events throughout the Washington D.C. Metropolitan Area and our community involvement activities range from fundraising to wreath laying. In our most recent GIVE event, we partnered with Operation Shoebox to organize a collection drive during the holiday season where we collected food, snacks, personalized letters, and other frequently requested items to be included in the troop’s care packages. Our collection drive brought more items than requested which allowed Operation Shoebox to mail care packages to more troops stationed overseas.

To date, one of our favorite events was our participation in the Honor Flights Network Program. The Honor Flight Network Program transports America’s Veterans to Washington D.C. so that they can visit the memorials dedicated to honor their service and sacrifice. Our role was to meet and greet Veterans as they arrived at the airport and disembarked from their plane. We had the distinct privilege of giving a heroes’ welcome to America’s most senior Veterans, survivors of World War II. It was a great opportunity to for us to thank them for their service and remind them that their sacrifice to our country has not been forgotten. It was a great turnout and a very memorable experience.
