DFC Writes Valentine’s Day Cards for the Troops
Showing that home is where the heart is, DFC staff recently took time out of their busy schedules to write nearly 100 Valentine’s Day cards that will be sent to troops serving overseas in support of the Troops Project.
The Troops Project is a non-profit organization that supports those who serve in the armed forces by shipping chocolate chip cookies and cards to Servicemembers. This is one small way to honor their commitment and show appreciation for their unselfish sacrifice. DFC’s cards will be among 5,000 cookies and cards shipped to all branches of the military, primarily in Afghanistan.
The Troops Project’s founder explains that “the troops seem to love the cookies but the handwritten messages of support are what help make the cookies taste so ‘sweet.’ ”
This is the second year in a row that DFC has sent cards to the troops via the Troops Project. To learn more about how DFC supports our country’s Veterans and Servicemembers, read about our GIVE (Get Involved for Veterans) Program.
