DFC Nominated for the 2017 Outstanding Corporate Citizenship Awards
Duty First Consulting (DFC) is excited to announce that it was recently selected, for the second year in a row, by the Northern Virginia Chamber of Commerce as a nominee for the 2017 Outstanding Corporate Citizenship Awards in the Small Business category.
The Northern Virginia Chamber’s Outstanding Corporate Citizenship Awards honor individuals, businesses, and non-profits for above-and-beyond business leadership, employee engagement, and corporate social responsibility. The Outstanding Corporate Citizen of the Year Award in the Small Business category is presented to a DC metro region business for outstanding contributions during the past year to employees and the community who have been a longtime advocate for the community.
As a Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business, the centerpiece of DFC’s corporate culture is our commitment and passion to support those who have served and sacrificed so much for our great nation, but who all too often ask for or receive little. While DFC does this through our work with federal agencies every day, our volunteer program, GIVE (Get Involved for Veterans) Program, ensures that our staff have first-hand experiences making a direct difference in Veteran and military communities. Over the past year, DFC has been involved with several Veteran organizations. A few include: Honor Flights, where DFC employees enthusiastically welcomed dozens of World War II, Korean War, and Vietnam War Veterans to the nation’s capital by greeting them at Ronald Reagan National Airport, Wreaths Across America, where thousands of local volunteers laid wreaths in remembrance of our fallen soldiers at Arlington National Cemetery, and Operation Help a Hero, where DFC provided items from a military family in need’s wish list around the holiday season.
The Northern Virginia Chamber’s Outstanding Corporate Citizenship Awards Ceremony takes place on June 14th, 2017 at the Hilton Tysons Corner.
